Today, Blizzard dropped a sizeable post outlining improvements being done to World of Warcraft's Universal Upgrade System in Dragonflight Season 3. The MMORPG's post addresses several areas that will be changed based on player feedback. According to the announcement, it’s intended to make the system ”more sustainable and more player-friendly”.
A large portion of the post is dedicated to gear, both PvP and PvE-related. The first section discusses increasing the length of the Hero and Myth tracks, making them six and four levels long respectively. This will increase the iLvL of each, making them stand out more from normal raid gear.
As for PvP gear, it is now being added to the upgrade system, allowing players to get Flightstones and Crests for their PvP activity. This move unifies gear into a single system so that players don’t have to learn more than one.
Another area being changed is inventory. With the way Crest Fragments are used, they were taking up quite a few inventory slots. Although, they were allowed to take up space in the reagent bag as well. Going forward Crests will reside in the currency tab.
There are several other changes and adjustments listed in the post as well. The full rundown is available on the World of Warcraft site.
Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
