For a while now, Final Fantasy XIV players have pondered whether we’ll be seeing a mobile version of the MMORPG. After all, almost every game out there seems to be jumping on the mobile bandwagon. We finally have our answer.

Last night, Square Enix announced that a Final Fantasy XIV Mobile version is being developed by Lightspeed Studios under the direction of the Square Enix team. The announcement included a video from Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida, as well as a link to the mobile version’s website where players can sign up for more information.

At present, there isn’t a lot of info on the site. It’s effectively a general rundown of what the game is with some cinematics running in the background. What we do know is that the game will feature all of our favorite characters and have players fighting primals in Eorzea.
