Star Citizen periodically offers "Free Fly" periods for their space MMO project and a new one just kicked off a few minutes ago. Starting today and running until July 19th, hop into space and get to exploring with ten legendary ships to take for a test drive. If you like what you see you can always support Cloud Imperium Games by purchasing the discounted starter packs. Obviously, Star Citizen has raised a ton of money, but we're sure they could always use some more, I guess.

Free Fly comes as part of the return of the Foundation Festival. The annual celebration fosters the spirit of community in Star Citizen as players are encouraged to volunteer with local and imperial organizations. Rewards abound for veterans and new players alike. Veterans can earn some extra rewards leading new players through guided gameplay sessions.

This year's Foundation Festival also prepares all players for the incoming Pyro System. If you like the danger and intrigue of the space outlaw life, you'll want to make sure you're up-to-date on what Pyro adds.

The Foundation Festival itself runs until July 31st and there's additional community content creation contests running alongside the event.
