Free-To-Play Multiplayer Games Still Coming Out This Year

The year is not over yet. It is only fall. There are still free-to-play multiplayer games coming out in 2025. Let us take a look at what is on the way.

Ragnarok M: Classic — September 3

Technically, Ragnarok M: Classic launched on September 3 across PC, iOS, and Android. But we think it was recent enough to be included in this list as a reminder. This revival of Ragnarok Online keeps the spirit of the classic MMORPG alive while offering modern conveniences and cross-platform play. The game promises a single-currency economy and a commitment to avoid pay-to-win monetization.

2XKO (Closed Beta) — September 9

On September 9, Riot Games’ fighting game 2XKO enters global closed beta on PC. Formerly known as Project L, the game brings champions from League of Legends into a new competitive fighting format, with two-character teams and synergy-driven mechanics. This is the first time players worldwide can test. Cross-progression across PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 is planned. The official release is probably sometime next year (2026).

Marvel Rivals (PS4 Release) — September 12

Marvel Rivals expands to PlayStation 4 on September 12. This launch coincides with the game’s Season 4 update, Heart of the Dragon, which adds new heroes like Angela and Daredevil. Skate begins its free-to-play Early Access on September 16, coming to PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and later mobile. The fictional city of San Vansterdam is a persistent social sandbox supporting up to 150 players at once. There is seasonal content, a “Skate Pass” battle-pass system, and user-generated ramps and parks. EA insists that all monetization will be cosmetic only; therefore, no pay-to-win.

Warborne: Above Ashes — September 19

Warborne: Above Ashes lands on September 19. This sci-fi MMO blends 4X strategy with action RPG combat and supports massive battles with up to 200 players. Available via Steam and Epic, the game revolves around faction warfare and promises nonstop PvP encounters.

Blade & Soul Heroes — September 24

Blade & Soul Heroes is an action RPG/MOBA hybrid from NCSoft. It launches globally on September 24 for PC and mobile. There's no firm release date yet, but Steel Aces is expected before the end of Q3 2025. This tank MMO emphasizes historical accuracy, with vehicles spanning from World War I through the Cold War. Developers promise no pay-to-win, ensuring that collectible tanks are purely cosmetic. Closed beta is already underway, so the official launch is imminent — likely later this September.

Where Winds Meet — November 14

Where Winds Meet launches on November 14 for PC and PlayStation 5. Inspired by Chinese Wuxia, the game mixes open-world exploration with MMO-lite mechanics. It features breathtaking graphics and blends action RPG combat with multiplayer social systems.
