GrandChase Launches New Spirit System Update

GrandChase pushed a new update that brings major new systems, content, and rewards to the free-to-play MMORPG.

The new Spirit System builds on the existing Soul Imprint feature. This system allows players to unlock and develop “Spirits,” powerful upgrades that grant passive effects, and new Spirit Skills usable in various game modes. Spirits can be unlocked through special missions or by using Spirit Ticket items. Once unlocked, each Spirit can be leveled up through 10 ranks using Spirit Points and Divine Crystals, which can be earned from events, missions, or crafting. 

As a bonus, the first hero to receive full Spirit Growth support is Elesis, who now uses the new skill “Baptism of Saint Arc Torch.” This skill features layered buffs, a scaling damage mechanic, and a cinematic attack animation. Completing Elesis’s Spirit Growth also unlocks the exclusive Arc Torch Elesis avatar.

The update also introduces two new combat stats — Destruction Power and Protection Power — which are designed to streamline stat management and improve balance across characters and modes. These will be displayed in PvP and World Boss content and play an important role in optimizing teams for harder content.

Another big addition is the Hall of Heroes (Beta), a new PvE competition mode running over four weeks. In it, players battle rotating bosses in two dungeons, aiming to deal as much damage as possible and climb weekly and cumulative rankings. Rankings grant rewards like Gems and Hall of Heroes Tokens, which can be exchanged for event-exclusive items. Players can retry dungeons multiple times, and the mode resets weekly to keep the competition fresh.

Alongside these gameplay features, the update adds World 18: Leviathan’s Sanctuary, completing the game’s latest story arc. There's also a Swimsuit Rare Avatar Event where players can earn a free select ticket, plus joint training missions, improved UI functionality, and new items in the shop and costume draw.

All players who log in during the event will receive a set of special rewards, and those who pre-registered will get even more. Update-related rewards will be available until September 1.
