TERA fans may have something to look forward to in the future. According to a report on Inven, a new team dedicated to developing a sequel to TERA has been founded under Bluehole Studio’s R&D Division. The report goes on to state that the team will be led by Kang Sang-wook, who previously worked on the original TERA, although some may better recognize him from his work on PUBG: Battlegrounds.
As it’s extremely early days for this project, based on Inven’s report, it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing TERA 2 anytime soon. The project is currently in R&D and reportedly only has a handful of people working on it. We could easily be looking at up to a decade before the game launches, if it does. That said, there are indications that current plans are for the game to follow in its predecessor’s footsteps as an action-combat MMORPG. That’s excellent news for fans of the game.
Of course, now, it’s just a matter of waiting and seeing, which we will be doing. Hopefully, the game progresses quickly, without becoming a mess, and we’ll be able to find out more about it, like whether or not it will be free-to-play at launch.
