Turns out a game launch wasn't the only big change coming to Warpforge.
A new ranking system will be launching in Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge later this week. Intended to make things clearer for players of the CCG and address the shortcomings that have appeared as the difference between veteran and new players grows, the new tiered division structure will replace the ELO rating system.
The system will try to match players with players in their division. Of course, this will depend on available players, so there is a chance players will compete with players one division higher or lower than their own.
With the new system, players will progress through 30 ranks and six divisions. Each division: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond has five ranks. Advancing from one division to the next requires a certain amount of Honours. To move from Division I to Division II, players will need two Honours. The number of Honours required to progress will increase with a max of the amount required being five.
Once players reach Diamond Division 5 and earn five honors in it, they’ll move to the Legendary Division. There they will start with a rating of 2500 for each faction. This number will change based on wins and losses.
To ensure a smooth transition to the new system, Everguild will place players in the rank closest to their rank under the old system at the end of the previous season. Players with a 2500+ rating will be in the Legendary Division while those below will fall into one of the other Divisions. Full details on how this will work are available on the Warpforge site.
