As of today, the PUBG foray into the top-down shooter space is no more. The devs ended PUBG: Blindspot's online service this afternoon after announcing plans to do so last week. That means players were able to spend about two months with the game.
According to last week's announcement, the team had been trying to improve the game but ultimately decided that they were “no longer able to sustainably provide the level of experience [they] set out to deliver”. Because the game couldn’t provide players with the experience they were looking for, they’ve elected to move on from the project.
The post went on to thank players for their time and note that the devs would “take some time to regroup” and that they “hope to return with new experiences in the future”. PUBG: Blindspot was announced in January and entered early access at the beginning of February.
