If you're curious about Fallout 76's next major patch, it hits the Public Test Server today. In addition to a few other items, the survival game is making big changes to the way Legendary crafting works to try and give players a bit more control over the mods on their Legendary items.
First, we have the introduction of a new crafting component called Legendary Particles. These particles can be traded with with other players, or you can score some when you scrap Legendary items. When you scrap Legendary items, you'll also have a chance to pick up a plan for any Legendary mod on that Legendary item. Once you have the plan and the requisite materials, head to your Tinker Bench and craft the mod using your Legendary Particles.
At this point, you can still trade the mod if you like. Once you place it on an item, though, that item will become bound and can no longer be dropped. Each subsequent mod change on that item will get a bit more expensive.
The team is looking for a lot of feedback on the system and says they won't release it "until it is ready." Bethesda has also relaxed Legendary Mod restrictions on weapons to see what crazy builds can be crafted.
Mischief Night, Fallout 76's Halloween-themed event, also returns to the PTR with new content. The revamped version has been relocated to Rapidan Camp.
Finally, the game is testing a "Best Builds" feature that allows players to submit their C.A.M.P. for the approval of the player base. Visit player C.A.M.P.s and see what some of the best creators out there are making. You can even leave a "Like" on some so they get recommend to other players. This is interesting timing since another Bethesda/Zenimax property, The Elder Scrolls Online, is getting a similar feature soon.
Head over to the full PTR details for more information and to check out some additional changes coming to combat, fire and poison mods, and the public events schedule.
