Arcane’s Mel is the new League of Legends champion, and she looks broken
By Lauren Bergin
Added Jan 10, 2025
January 9, 2025 Official descriptions of Mel's abilities from Riot have been added to this article.
Jinx's Super Mega Death Rocket is hurtling towards Piltover's Council Chambers, shattering a rare moment of peace. As its leering smile draws ever-closer, Mel Medarda's back shimmers with gold, alerting her to the fact that something is coming, and it's not good. From that moment on, I knew that we'd see her join the Rift's ever-growing roster at some point, and now is the perfect time. Yes, that's right, Arcane's Mel Medarda is the new League of Legends champion, and she joins the fray just in time for LoL's Noxian-themed first season.
