If you’re familiar with the Honor of Kings IP, you’re probably already aware that Tencent has a new multiplayer game in the works. Just a few days ago, the company opened sign-ups for players interested in taking part in alpha testing of Honor of Kings: World, a game they apparently describe as a multiplayer RPG.
I discovered this while digging around for information on the game’s monetization, when I stumbled across a video by Just Memplex, who starts out by explaining that the game is not an MMORPG, but that it does have MMO elements. Players can work and play together. According to the video, they can even complete the game’s MSQ together and have everyone receive credit for it. The game also includes PvE, PvP, raids, and even housing. He basically describes the game as being like Where Winds Meet, only improved.
As for the game’s monetization, it is free-to-play. If you do decide to spend money, it seems most of it will go toward cosmetics, either directly or through the battle pass. However, a lot of them can be obtained using in-game currency. There is a gacha element to the game, but it’s just skins. Interestingly, when you unlock classes, you unlock a physical appearance based on the class in the original game. But you don’t have to use that appearance and create your own character appearance to use in the game.
Just Memplex goes into the system in great detail and offers information on the game’s PvP, bosses, and other features as well. We’ve included the video for you below. If you’re interested in signing up for the alpha test, you can do so on the Honor of Kings: World site.
