Nexon Announces FAREIDOLIA, A New Game From The Team Behind Blue Archive

Okay, we may have written about this at some point, when the game was still called Project RX, but I wasn’t able to find it in a quick search before beginning this post. Either way, Project RX now has a real name, FAREIDOLIA. This is a game currently being developed by the Blue Archive team built using Unreal Engine 5.

According to as statement from the game’s Director, Minseo Cha in the press release, FAREIDOLIA is the result of the developers wanting to “capture the story of discovering familiarity within that new world (meaning the world Anima City is in) while forming bonds along the way”. Cha goes on to say that the dev team “also wanted players to feeel genuinely close to the Mates”.

Players take on the roles of director of the Anima City Restoration Center and head of “Tasogare Hall” where the “Mates” mentioned above live. As you’d expect, the Mates have special abilities that they use to deal with problems in the city. And yes, at least for now, all of the Mates are girls. Four are mentioned in the press release: an explorer named Minieh, a genius named Ohana, an unlucky catgirl named Shami, and the Elevator Girl. The last is in charge of the elevator at Tasogare Hall.

The game will be shared with the public for the first time during the Tokyo Game Show where attendees will be given the opportunity to experience it hands on.
