Soulframe is already looking to the future. In the latest issue of PLAY Magazine (first reported by MP1st), Chief Creative Officer Steve Sinclair said that Soulframe's post-launch content will be similar to that of Warframe.
“Yes. I think gamers can be rightfully exhausted by some of the different business models out there, but I’m hoping we can continue Warframe’s reputation as being when something cool comes out, [there’s] a general positive reaction [of] ‘I can’t believe I’m getting this for free. Okay, I’m gonna buy something because I like the devs, or there’s a wicked-ass cosmetic and I can’t live without it’. There are no barriers.”
Warframe is of course quite well known for its free content updates, many of which would be considered a paid expansion in other games such as new large open zones. In between content updates are plenty of events to keep players entertained. Warframe is also well regarded for its monetization practices, something Soulframe also looks to mimic once it launches.
It sounds like players have little to worry about when it comes to content and monetization when it comes to the MMO, especially if you're a fan of everything Warframe does. The two sound like they will be nearly indistinguishable when it comes to the cash shop and the way content is rolled out for the games.
Soulframe is slated for release in 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox X|S.
