Digital Extremes had a pretty busy weekend, what with their annual celebration of all things Warframe, TennoCon, where they celebrated 10 years of sci-fi action and shared future plans for the game. During the convention, the developer introduced the next chapter in the free-to-play RPG shooter’s story, Warframe: Tau. This new narrative will take players to a new Star Chart where they will visit the Sentient ring city of Fornax, a place filled with continual black rain and a very active criminal underworld. In fact, the city is run by a crime boss who keeps everyone under his thumb via the production of the addictive substance known as “Bloom”
As always, the new story will also introduce a new Warframe. The Sentient Warframe Brysko was brought back to life by Albrech Entrati and exists to infiltrate the inner circle of the crome boss The Hunra. The Warframe is “voiced” by Matt Mercer, or rather it’s inner monologue is.
Of course, since Digital Extremes also sometimes likes to pose as a music company, players can expect new music. In this calse, a “noir trip-hop track” sung by Canadian vocalist Jill Harris titled “View From the Top”.
In additional Warframe news, the devs also announced a Fortnite crossover event (already available). Players of the free-to-play battle royale can now play as the Warframe Excalibur.
