Destiny 2 players got a bit of a surprise with the launch of Heresy. Due to the developers changing a few things on the backend – with the intention of streamlining things for themselves – the class lockouts for Exotic Glaives and other weapons were removed from the shooter game by accident. It didn’t take players long to discover this and while the developers initially intended to fix the bug, they’ve since changed their mind.
Players seem to be pretty happy with the weapons no longer being tied to specific classes, despite some of the weirder side effects. As is noted in the latest This Week in Destiny post, animations can be a bit weird, but the devs figure it will make for some interesting screenshots and videos. At the same time, the bug does allow for some new builds where the Glaives are concerned. They’ll be keeping their eyes on things and working to make sure the weapons feel the most powerful on the class they were created for, though.
Overall, it seems like a good deal for players. It looks like this is one of those Bob Ross situations where there were no mistakes, just happy accidents.
