The Dragons Have Arrived In Albion Online With The Drop Of The ‘Dragonfire’ Update

As promised, players of Albion Online have gotten the dragons they’ve been asking for. Sandbox Interactive released the ‘Dragonfire’ update today, turning the beasts loose in the free-to-play MMORPG’s world, where players of all stripes may join together to help fight off the destruction they bring. Of course, it’s difficult to defeat a dragon out in the open. But that’s okay, you can at least chase them off and catch up later. Specifically, players who participate in the world fights may get their hands on a way to access the Fire Dragon’s lair and take him down, earning rewards at the same time.

No matter how a player chooses to play, there’s plenty for them to do in the new update. The update introduces a new explorable region known as The Ancient Lands, which features both PvE and PvP combat options. Portal will appear throughout the region. Some will cater to single players while others will need small groups. And some will require about 20 players to complete.

Entering one of these portals take players to a floating island where they will need to defeat enemies and unlock keystones. The keystone will open paths to other islands. The thing is that players will need to be away of where they’re at, and keep an eye on the paths.

Making their way through the Ancient Lands will eventually bring players to one of four Drake Islands. This is where they’ll find treasure and something called Waystone Fragement that will unlock the Dragon Sanctuary. Just, don’t go into the Sanctuary alone. It’s far more dangerous. So you’ll want to take well-prepared friends.

To celebrate the update, Albion Online is hosting a creator contest titled “Royal Hunt”. This event runs through October 12. During that time, content creators will form guilds and compete in various missions. That includes the slaying of dragons. To reward the creators and their community for their efforts, the content creators will earn giveaways for their community. Among the items being rewarded are real-life Dragon coins made of silver.
