Update 6.9 for free-to-play first-person shooter THE FINALS, as part of Season 6, introduces a new Limited Time Mode.
It’s called Heavy Hitters and features 5v5 platform fighter-style action (like Super Smash Bros.) in the new Pop Drop Arena, where the goal is to knock opponents off the stage using melee weapons. The event is sponsored by OSPUZE Tiger Juice, and players can complete contracts to unlock themed rewards. This update also kicks off XP DASH, offering bonus XP and Fans to help players out.
The Sponsor Showdown event heats up too as the season nears its end, letting players fight for brand dominance between OSPUZE, ENGIMO, and ALFA ACTA. Every match contributes to sponsor standings, visually transforming maps depending on which brand is winning each day. Also, there’s Twitch Drops going on that offer new "Broadcast Blaze" weapon skins for those who watch streams of the game. Maps are changing as well, with Kyoto’s water movement penalty removed and the P.E.A.C.E. Center now part of Team Deathmatch rotation.
In this patch, we also see a major long-standing issue get resolved. The bug causing endless lingering visual effects like permanent burning, tracking, and sonar has finally been fixed. And, melee hit detection has been improved for all melee weapons. There’s a bunch of weapon balance changes too, including tweaks to the KS-23, FAMAS, XP-54, M11, and melee consistency, as well as adjustments to visual recoil and accuracy across multiple weapons.
