Although people may still be playing Nexon’s free-to-play shooter The First Descendant, that doesn’t mean they’re necessarily happy with it. In fact, some of them definitely aren’t if the latest Dev Talk stream is anything to go by.
On Friday, game director Minseok Joo joined one of the community managers to discuss the state of the game. In the video (shared on Massively), Joo admits that the game hadn’t been providing the experience players wanted and outlined what the plans were to deal with this. Specifically, he noted that they’ll start by overhauling the core game, fixing things like the endgame structure and farming loops. This will be the first phase of their efforts, with a second phase focusing on improving the game’s story – both MSQ and side content. Finally, a third phase will build on this, effectively polishing the game into what it has apparently been intended to be from the start.
The stream, which is nearly an hour and a half long, offers more information on the team’s plans. It can be viewed below.
