MMOBOMB
Jan 23, 2024
For many, end-game raiding is THE most important system in an MMORPG game. Whether you just want to complete the story or are looking for a difficult challenge, these MMOs bring the raiding above and beyond the others. In no particular order:
Guild Wars 2 is famous for keeping end-game gear and activities relevant expansion after expansion, so once you're geared up for end-game content you can rest easy knowing your gear will always be good and the content will always be relevant. GW2 has some great raiding as well. Their raiding is nothing to take for granted with intense fights and fantastic settings.
The Elder Scrolls Online probably shines the most in its group content. Whether you're running dungeons for gear or doing end-game Trials, you're sure to have a good time. 12 players can get together to take part in the Trials, and fights are just as challenging as you would expect. In typical TESO fashion, the settings are gorgeous and the cooperation needed is very fun.
While Star Wars: The Old Republic doesn't release as many new Operations per year as other MMOs, the ones they have remain relevant with each level increase, though you'll have to regear with the release of each major expansion. You can expect typical MMO raid bosses and mechanics in SWTOR, but there are some unique fights in the game unlike I've seen in other MMORPGs.
Final Fantasy XIV is pretty well renowned for its end-game content. Raids are a core part of the end-game experience in FFXIV, with plenty of challenges for players to partake in. Add in the fact that your character can be any class, and each fight can feel fresh and new from a new gameplay perspective. There are multiple difficulty levels and trials can accommodate 8 players while raids allow a whopping 24.
World of Warcraft is the MMO most of us think of when we think of end-game raiding. WoW has produced plenty of iconic moments in its raids. The main stories in World of Warcraft often end in their raids, making them vital pieces of content for story completionists. Like in FFXIV, there are multiple difficulties to take part in, from the easy raid finder modes to the difficult Mythic+ difficulties. No list of raiding would be complete without WoW.
That's our list of the best raiding to be found in MMORPGs. What's your favorite MMO to raid in? Let us know in the comments.
