Torchlight: Infinite’s next season is slated to begin on April 16. When it launches, it will introduce an all-new game loop to the free-to-play ARPG, offering players a new way to obtain loot. The season, titled Lunaria, features a mechanic of the same name. You’re going to see “Lunar” in the description in a variety of ways here, but effectively, players use Lunar Rings to wake up Lunar Stone Statues and fight Lunari creatures. Defeating the creatures will earn players loot and energy. The new energy will allow players to awaken more Lunar Statues.
The gameplay system also features “Lunar Omens and Rhapsodies” that have different effects on encounters. One example given is Lunar Radiance, causing a golden statue to appear on the map. This statue will provide players with more loot than the regular ones.
The new season will also introduce the “Creation Engine.” These machines, guarded by Creation Sentries, are scattered about the map and produce big rewards when defeated. The loot is obtained from the Creation Crystals in the area that changes form once all the mobs associated with the Creation Engines are dealt with.
Players can also look forward to the new Scent Weaver Sage hero. This elixir-based healer can adjust her potions mid-fight, changing their stats and effects. She comes with two specialization paths: Scholar and Mad Scientist. Scholar maxes life and mana, while Mad Scientist allows them to carry an extra offensive flask.
