On September 1, Wargaming will be dropping World of Tanks’ Update 2.4: Overdrive. The update, described as “the biggest World of Tanks update of 2026” brings with it a new German heavy line and six Tier XI vehicles. It also brings improvements to several game features, like matchmaking.
The German heavy line introduces four heavy tanks to the game. One of these is the first of the six Tier XI tanks being introduced, the Pz. Kpfw. Neu. All four tanks include the “Shell Calibration System” which allows them to adapt and recalibrate shell parameters based on the target. As for the other five Tier XI vehicles, each represents a different nation and features its own gameplay mechanic.
The update also brings new visual effects to the free-to-play shooter intended to make tracking what’s happening during a battle easier. The improvements will make it easier for players to see where shots land, whether they bounce off something or not, and the kind of damage they do. To make things even clearer, sound effects have been improved as well. Other improvements include light tank rebalancing, improved matchmaking, and more. A full rundown of features and improvements are available on the World of Tanks site.
