World of Warships marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with a commemorative August update.
There’s the limited-time event “In The Name of Tomorrow,” which introduces three new Operations — Arctic Convoy, Tokyo Express, and Pacific Offensive — each available weekly for up to seven-player teams. These missions feature objectives like convoy escorts, stealth raids, and base assaults, rewarding players with stars used to progress through a special narrative campaign and unlock items from the new ‘39–’45 Chronicles Collection. Rewards include an exclusive WWII skin for the Tier IX Iowa, the “Underwater Explosion” destruction effect, and the American commander Robert Adams.
The update for the free-to-play shooter also adds the Tier X premium destroyer USS Laffey to the Dockyard. Known as “The Ship That Would Not Die,” Laffey survived multiple attacks during the war and arrives in-game with defensive tools, a Smoke Generator, and a variant Burst Fire mechanic.
Additionally, a Content Rarity System debuts in the Armory, adding rarity tiers to ships, camouflages, and destruction effects. And there are two new flags, achievements for Clan Battles Season 31, and the premium cruiser San Diego as a final event prize.
