Now that the Lahai-Roi story has wrapped up in Wuthering Waves, Rover’s ready to make a visit to where everything started, Jinzhou. But. There’s a problem. (Isn’t there always?) People have been disappearing, and it seems to have something to do with Jinzhou’s neighboring land of Xuanfang. Chixia and Yangyang have been sent to the border to investigate. Unfortunately, Chixia was injured during an encounter with a lot of Tacit Discords, and Yangyang decided to go ahead on her own to investigate. She hasn’t been seen since.
If you haven’t heard of Xuanfang before, that’s fine. It’s part of Mengzhou, which is part of the entirety of Huanglong. It’s responsible for holding back the tide and is part of what keeps Jinzhou safe. It also has its own Sentinel (as do all of the six major cities in Huanglong, apparently). It’s also where Yangyang’s sister Suisui resides and where Buling is from. It’s known for its many mechanisms, including little mechanical birds.
Rover will be spending their time in this region throughout Versions 3.5-3.7, where they will be searching for Yangyang and discovering what happened to her. Players will also meet Suisui there. Both sisters will be the new resonators available during the 3.5 update.
The free-to-play action RPG's 3.5 update will launch on July 10 with the two-part main quest, Chapter IV Act I “The Wind Before The Storm” and Chapter IV Act II “Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled”. During this quest, Rover will obtain something called the “Skyscribe Armillary,” which will allow them to view moments in time and see what is going on with other Resonators when they’re not there. It will also allow them to advance the story through different points of view.
A follow-up quest, Main Quest IV Segue, “The Chant of Unseen Ties,” will give players a peek at what’s been happening with Yangyang. Completing the story will earn players a new Xuangang-inspired motorbike chassis. So, at least we’re keeping our bike in this region.
If you haven’t completed the previous story content yet, you will be able to skip to 3.5, provided you’ve unlocked the Nexus tower in Jinzhou, as Mengzhou has been added to the Fast Track system.
As mentioned above, Yangyang and her sister Suisui will be the new resonators leading banners during this update. Yangyang: Xuanling will be a Havoc/Sword resonator. She will run alongside reruns of Lynae and Luuk Herssen. Suisui, a Glacio/Rectifier Resonator, will be accompanied by an Aemeath rerun.
In addition, there will be a Starpath Reverbs banner running throughout all of 3.5. Choose between one of six Jinzhou Resonators: Jiyan, Yinlin, Jinshi, Changli, Zhezhi, or Xiangli Yao to pull on. The first ten pulls will be free and more pulls will be earned by hitting milestones in the Reverb Resonator Convene. Each Resonator’s signature weapon will be available to roll on as well.
Version 3.5 will also, finally, grant Rover a new attribute: Electro, as well as the “Electro Wristband,” which can change into one of three different weapons as needed. These are a shield, a blade, and a crossbow. A special moveset combines all of Rover's attributes, something you usually only see in cutscenes in these games.
The update will also bring a couple of quality-of-life changes. This includes a new feature that allows players to change the voice-over languages on a character-by-character basis. Note that this won’t work in primary story content, as that would be more difficult to do. Also, players can now choose between a semi-auto and a full-auto option when it comes to story auto-play. Finally, play
A new feature will allow players to change the voice-over languages on a character-by-character basis. This only applies to non-story content; story content will follow the language chosen in the settings menu. Choose between semi-auto and full auto. Also, it will now be easier to acquire material via the guidebook.
On a final note, if you’ve been waiting for WuWa to come to the Xbox, your wait is about to come to an end. It will launch on the console alongside the Version 3.5 update.
No, we haven’t forgotten the codes. They are: MECHANISMCITY, INTOTHEFOG, and REUNION. Be sure to use them before Sunday.
