Wuthering Wave’s Next Update Buffs Rover’s Cool Rating By Giving Them Sword Flight

Wuthering Waves players may have resolved one issue since traveling to Xuanfang in their search for Yangyang in the last update – at least for now. As all players of the free-to-play action RPG know, the problems of Solaris-3 are rarely solved that easily. But, at least we did find our friend and manage to prevent more people being killed.

Of course, we didn’t catch the real culprit. Chances are pretty good that’s going to take a while, partially due to the fact that in our last encounter he sent a puppet of himself instead. For now, our mission in the new region continues, beginning on August 20 when Chapter IV Act III [Song of the Heart Sword] drops. This is where we will officially meet the Sword Transcendent, Qingxiao, who will be available in the Phase I banner along with a rerun of Denia. Apparently, she’ll take enough of a liking to us to teach us the fine art of Sword Flight while assisting us on our mission.

A second main quest like, Chapter IV: Segue [The Nethermancer’s Requiem] will follow the one where we meet Qingxiao. This one focuses on the other new character, who we met briefly in the last update, Jingran. All we know about this update is that it involves secrets in Jingran’s lamp.

He will be the new Resonator available in Phase II. Hiyuki and Mornye will also be getting reruns at this time.

As mentioned, the new update will be introducing sword flight. Bikes are still usable, of course, but this might be some answer to those who have expressed annoyance at how flight on the bike works. It’ll probably depend on whether or not sword flight requires staying on specific paths. During the stream, the devs stated that “designated areas” would open up allowing players to “freely” ride their sword. So, we’ll see how people feel about it then.

The other thing players will pick up from Qingxiao is the ability to play the guqin. Upon completing the main quest, players will receive the instrument, which they can place on their ability wheel.
