In about a week and a half, Zenless Zone Zero will kick off the third season of its story with the Version 3.0 update “A Sleepwalker’s Confession”. Players of the free-to-play action RPG have known for a little bit now that we’ll be heading to a city in the sky named Roscaelifer. The city, run by the legendary Void Hunter Lady Sunbringer, is primarily a bangboo city. It’s also where Wise and Belle will hopefully find what they need to get their powers under control.
While it hasn’t been explicitly stated that the Proxies’ powers will be completely tamed, we do know that they’ll soon be able to enter combat alongside their friends and other agents with the help of the game’s first Phaethon faction Agent, Pyrois. This agent will not only be useful in combat, but will also introduce a new way to explore. Players don’t have to worry about how to get Pyrois. It only makes sense that the Agent that will carry the Proxies into combat will be made available to players for free as part of the story.
Aside from Pyrois, the update introduces two new agents. Okay, they’re not really new and not exactly just being introduced. Velina and Norma, the ladies who invited the Proxies to Roscaelifer in the first place, will both be available for players to pick up. Velina is the game’s first Wind-attribute Agent and is apparently very effective against groups. Norma is a Fire Stun Agent who has the ability to grant teammates additional Chain Attack triggers. They will be available in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the 3.0 Signal Search, respectively.
The free Agent, Pyrois, is an Eather-attribute Attack Agent. As mentioned above, Pyrois brings the Proxies into combat. Which Proxy appears on the field is determined by which one players have as their active character at the time. Pyrois is a bit malleable as an Agent, with a sword that changes form depending on what skills are being used and four different Ultimate abilities, each with its own effect. Players will obviously need to figure out which Ultimate should be used when to make the most of them.
As players might remember, when Wise and Bell were invited to visit Roscaelifer with the promise that they’d receive help with their powers there, Billy and Cissia decided they would go along to keep them safe. Surprisingly, it seems no one had a problem with this, and all four were granted individual rooms on the floating island in Amber Hall. Based on what we’ve seen in the trailer, we’re probably going to need them with us.
The Version 3.0 update drops on June 17 and will, of course, bring new events with it. On an additional note, when the update launches, Zenless Zone Zero will also launch on Steam. So, if you prefer that to individual launchers, now’s your time.
