The special site has been up for Final Fantasy XIV’s next patch for a short while, but, until today, it was just a bullet-point list of features. Today, we get some (somewhat) more detailed information on what’s to come, beginning with the next step in the MMORPG’s MSQ, Growling Light – Part 1.
Remember how we left things on the Thirteenth’s moon? With the awakening of Zeromus? Well, it looks like that gives us an excuse to travel back to the first (for more than just working on our crafting tools or general gathering). It also looks like Zero’s going to be spending some time with Ryne.
Patch 6.5 will also bring the last of the Myths of the Realm Alliance raids. This one, titled Thaleia, sees players challenging the last three of the Twelve as well as the Watcher. It’s a really good thing that this is all friendly competition. Otherwise, we might feel a little bad about picking a fight with our friend on the moon.
Speaking of moons, a new dungeon has opened up on the Thirteenth’s moon. The Lunar Subterrane is where we will find Zeromus, and we’ll need to find him before he gathers enough strength to see Golbez’s plan through. Of course, getting through the dungeon is only the first part. We’ll have to get through it to the Abyssal Fracture trial, where Zeromus actually waits.
A new Unreal trial is on the table as well. Patch 6.5 will bring the Unreal version of The Singularity Reactor. It’s back to fight Tordan and the Heavens’ Ward.
Finally, 6.5 will complete the conversion of older dungeons to Duty Support dungeons. New additions include the Drowned City of Skalla, the Burn, and the Ghimlyt Dark. Oh, yes, the free trial has been expanded as well. You may want to update your meme to say “level 70.”
