Players take control of an aircraft carrier, its crew, officers, and planes during World War II. Success depends heavily on flexibility when managing available fleet resources. You must assign a crew and decide what your officers should focus on while manning many stations across the ship. Proper management is key to executing plans whether you engage enemies directly, sneak past them, or take alternative routes to avoid contact. Damage control teams can handle fire outbreaks, torpedo strikes, hull flooding, enemy bombardment, airstrikes, and suicide attacks from enemy planes, but not all at once. You must assess which threats need to be dealt with first in order to survive. Use maneuvers, aircraft, anti-aircraft turrets, and other tools to survive enemy attacks. Ensure that any opponent who dares to attack ends up in the depths of the Pacific. Use intel collected during recon missions to prepare pilots and aircraft for large operations. Target enemy land bases and even their entire fleets by identifying opponents before choosing attack directions. Decide the sequence of targets and maneuvers based on this intelligence. You will face decisions about risking all lives on the vessel to save those in need. Some sacrifices will be necessary, and victory remains the only source of redemption.
