About
APE OUT is an action indie title published by Devolver Digital and developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Bennett Foddy, and Maxi Boch. The game was released on February 28, 2019, and supports single-player gameplay with controller input. Players engage in a stylized smash em up focused on primal escape, rhythmic violence, and frenetic jazz. The experience involves building up near unstoppable momentum while using captors as both weapons and shields. You crush everyone along your procedurally generated path to freedom by holding enemies steady to create human shields or throwing them into walls. The setting features bold colors and a dazzling perspective as you rush through tight corridors, open areas, and twisting labyrinths. You must overcome various forms of human opposition, nefarious traps, and breakable obstacles to find each exit. Unleash your primal instincts and incredible strength to overpower captors in this violent explosion of humanity. The game offers a mad dash for freedom where you grab and smash through the environment to reach the end.
