The story involves taking up arms against the Gods to ensure mankind's survival after they have abandoned humanity. Combat in Apotheon is fast and brutal, set in a bronze-aged world where players slay enemies with swords, spears, and arrows. You can explore the massive open world of Mount Olympus by battling mythical beings and searching for divine treasure. Locations include the Forests of Artemis and the Palaces of Apollo among other sanctuaries of the Gods. The game offers both single-player and multi-player modes, allowing you to challenge friends to one versus one local combat. The main story takes about eight hours to complete, while adding extras extends playtime to twelve hours. A completionist run requires fifteen hours to finish all content available in the title. The game stays true to its source material by including excerpts from the Iliad before certain encounters.
