About
Blood West is a first-person shooter developed and published by Hyperstrange that blends horror, action, and RPG elements into an indie title. Released on December 5, 2023, the game focuses on single-player gameplay where players assume the role of an undead gunslinger. This character must roam barren lands to purge a curse and free their soul from a damnation arc rather than a typical redemption story. The experience combines weird west legends with eldritch horror in a stealth-focused format. The game presents three distinct scenarios set in open-ended worlds located in the canyons, swamp, and mountains. These areas are filled with abominable monsters and unholy demons that players can explore at their own pace. Average completion of all three main scenarios takes about 13 hours, while seeing everything available extends playtime to roughly 22 hours. A completionist run focusing on every aspect of the barren lands requires approximately 32 hours. Fans of the Thief series may also appreciate the voice work by Stephen Russell within the game.
