Day of the Tentacle Remastered is an adventure and sci-fi title published by Double Fine Productions, with development also handled by the same studio. The game was originally released by LucasArts in 1993 as a sequel to Maniac Mansion before arriving in this updated edition on March 21, 2016. This single-player experience centers on three friends who collaborate to stop Dr. Fred's mutated purple tentacle from taking over the world. The remastered version presents all new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork alongside remastered audio, music, and sound effects. Players can choose between modernized, re-voiced music or classic tracks that sound like the original 90s release. The interface allows users to mix and match graphics and user interface elements to suit their preferred play style. A concept art browser is included for viewing development materials. The package includes a commentary track featuring original creators Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell, and Clint Bajakian. Users can toggle between classic mode and remastered mode at any time to experience the game in different configurations. This edition also contains a full playable version of Maniac Mansion as an included game within the game.

Thanks to the timeless quality of the writing, Day of the Tentacle remains as enjoyable today as it was when first released over twenty years ago. Faithfulness to the original art design is reflected in every lovingly-drawn line and hue of the gorgeous graphical presentation, and the zany humor is consistently spot-on. New players should be aware that the leaps in logic can make a few of the puzzles very difficult, but the witty wisecracks keep the search for solutions tremendously entertaining.
