DEADBOLT is an action, indie, and combat title published and developed by Hopoo Games that was released on March 14, 2016. The game functions as a stealth-action hybrid where players control a reaper tasked with ending an undead uprising. Missions are assigned by a mysterious fireplace, allowing the player to act as the avatar of death within this setting. The protagonist possesses a large arsenal and skillset but has a single critical weakness: dying in one shot. This mechanic leaves the player without room for error throughout the gameplay experience. Players can choose between playstyles such as a quiet assassin or a loud one-man army, or mix them as they see fit. The game includes over 25 extremely challenging missions that feature a dynamic gore system designed to provide satisfaction upon eliminating enemies. During these missions, players can unlock and obtain more than 30 weapons ranging from a reaper's scythe to an automatic grenade launcher. Combat encounters involve fighting over 35 enemy types, including zombies, vampires, bosses, and others. The main story takes approximately six hours to complete, while the main story plus extras extends to nine hours. A completionist run of the game requires about fourteen hours to finish all objectives. Accomplishments include assassinating gang leaders and investigating various mysteries presented during the campaign. The experience is accompanied by a multi-genre soundtrack created by Chris Christodoulou, who also worked on the Risk of Rain OST.
