About
The Last Faith is an indie action adventure platformer developed by Kumi Souls Games and published by Playstack. Released on November 14, 2023, this single-player title combines metroidvania exploration with soulslike combat mechanics. Players step into the role of Eryk, who awakens without memories of his immediate past in a ravaged world. The game features nonlinear exploration across a gothic landscape depicted with pixel art that includes snow-dusted mountains and moonlit castles. Combat is designed to be merciless and precise, offering a wide variety of melee weapons, arcane spells, and long-range firearms. In addition to standard attacks, the arsenal includes custom executions that allow players to carve their own path forward. The main story takes approximately 15 hours to complete, while playing through the main narrative plus extras extends playtime to around 19 hours. Those aiming for a completionist run can expect to spend about 24 hours exploring and upgrading tools for destruction. The wicked and the blessed are judged equally within this dark fusion of genres where nothing stands in your way.

The Last Faith is a beautiful but inconsistent rehash of older, better games.

The Last Faith is not the pinnacle of 2D metroidvanias, but its collection of weapons is genuinely cool and busting the masters of its samey levels is satisfying.
