About

Deadly Days is an indie action survival strategy game developed by Pixelsplit and WhisperGames for Assemble Entertainment, released on September 18, 2019. This single-player title places you in a zombie apocalypse where your goal is to manage and protect a group of survivors while working to stop the catastrophe. The narrative begins shortly before the outbreak when the fast-food chain MKing introduces a new burger containing a secret ingredient designed to boost profits. Over time, this additive creates a dependency that shuts down all areas of the brain except for the need for fresh meat. Additionally, the resulting disease prevents natural death, forcing victims to die through violent means instead. Players must discover and utilize a wide variety of items, including over 60 crazy objects like toothpaste, alongside wilder survivors and deadly weapons. More than 30 powerful special abilities are available to dramatically alter the outcome of fights, organized into three different specialties that unlock new options for abilities, survivors, objects, and weapon types. Combat involves more than 25 types of weapons featuring randomly generated modifications, which you must combine effectively since every attempt to save the world requires finding the best possible mix of resources. You are forced to use whatever you find because endless airstrikes or an army of rats may be your only options in certain situations. The game features procedurally generated cities and missions that allow for endless combinations as you search locations and conquer buildings. Plundering these areas quickly is essential, as an exploding zombie might blast you to pieces or a zombie on steroids could stomp you to dust during the day. At night, very dangerous hordes of zombies await, including more than 10 different types that want only one thing: brains. You will encounter over 55 different survivors, each with their own unique abilities, and must face three bosses who must be vanquished at the end of the game. The experience includes lovingly crafted pixel art and offers a main story length of approximately 11 hours for those focusing on primary objectives. If you choose to explore all content, the main story plus extras extends to about 19 hours, while completing every aspect requires around 61 hours. The game also features integrated Twitch capabilities where viewers can become survivors and decide which mission should be taken on next. Over 45 achievements need to be unlocked throughout your journey to fully experience the strategic rogue-lite elements.
