About
Distrust: Polar Survival is an indie adventure and strategy title published by Alawar Premium and developed by Cheerdealers. Released on August 23, 2017, the game takes place in an Arctic research station lost within the endless dark of a polar night. The setting features procedural generation that creates a randomly generated environment for players to explore. The narrative follows a group of explorers stranded after a helicopter crash near the station. Survivors must resist nightmares caused by dead frost and hunger while trying to escape the dangers of the long dark polar night. Players guide these characters through severe climate conditions and fight against unfathomable threats that appear suddenly. A core mechanic involves managing exhaustion, as falling asleep attracts a terrifying force that drains life from the bodies. However, staying awake longer reduces the likelihood of survival, creating a difficult balance for the player to maintain. The story offers multiple endings suitable for both single-player fans and those who enjoy co-op gameplay.
