Dust to the End is an indie adventure RPG developed by Haojoy Game and Zjoy Game, published by 2P Games. Players join a caravan of merchants to cross the unforgiving sands while negotiating and bartering to gain riches through trade. The setting takes place decades after a world-scale nuclear conflict destroyed human civilization, forcing survivors to hide in underground shelters for nearly a century. After radiation levels dropped enough for the ground to be safe, many survivor groups resurfaced to begin re-colonizing the world. However, the human race failed to learn from past mistakes, leading new powers to emerge in the wastelands where resources are scarce and far apart. Growing settlements, petty warlords, and roaming bands clash constantly for land, food, water, and other essential resources. The narrative follows a character who grew up in Shelter 507 before their leaders decided to open the doors to the outside world. Tragedy strikes when the family is killed by members of a human trafficking organization known as 'the Black Death'. The protagonist manages to flee and survive, eventually being nurtured back to health in a nearby settlement. In this merciless world, nothing comes for free, and players must earn their due through various means. You can fight and kill enemies and strange creatures that inhabit the wasteland or choose to attack and plunder unsuspecting victims. The gameplay involves leading a merchant caravan through the unforgiving wasteland where you sell and buy more than 100 kinds of goods. Prices in this dynamic economy are constantly affected by supply and demand as you explore a vast semi-open post-apocalyptic world map. This environment is filled with monsters, beasts, bandits, and other caravans that roam freely while posing hazards and challenges to your caravan. You will discover more than 50 cities and towns, each featuring different sizes, facilities, and trade goods. Combat consists of turn-based battles utilizing 9 categories of weapons and dozens of special skills. Players can hire new mercenaries for their caravan, where each mercenary has a personality that determines their mood and team status. These factors affect the team's combat effectiveness and attitude during encounters. As a leader, you can explore bunkers, establish and operate underground bases, and develop factories and facilities. You may also buy or hire civilian assistants to increase the economic output of your settlement. The game features a wasteland-style design with more than 40 exquisite hand-made character drawings. Multiple endings are available, as different dialogue choices will affect the plot direction and the final ending. The main story length is approximately 9 hours.
