About

Fae Tactics is a single-player strategy RPG developed by Endlessfluff Games and published by Humble Games. The title was released on July 30, 2020, and features turn-based gameplay without a traditional menu system. Players manage magical elements within their party to counter enemy strengths during combat encounters. The story follows Peony, a young magic user who travels through a world torn apart by the opening of Elemental Gates. This event allowed fae creatures to enter the natural realm, causing significant destruction and loss of life among both species. Survivors now live in the ruins while facing rising tension between humans and magical beings. Combat involves summoning allies and casting spells to overcome various fae creatures that players can collect for their team. The game offers customization options where users can level up characters and tailor their abilities to suit different situations. Exploration allows players to traverse colorfully detailed environments and uncover secrets within the world in any order they choose. Completion time varies based on player goals, with the main story taking approximately 32 hours to finish. Adding extra content extends this duration to around 44 hours for those seeking additional challenges. A full completionist playthrough requires about 73 hours of gameplay to experience all available content.

Fae Tactics takes an enjoyable swing at streamlining a complex genre, but doesn't reinvent it in the process.
