Players explore various locations including dorms, alchemy labs, an astronomy tower, and a twilight yard while uncovering dark secrets. The narrative offers a heartwarming story filled with twists that explores themes of friendship, trust, love, and loss. During combat, three students engage enemies from a pool of six characters, each bringing unique powers and strengths to the battlefield. The game features 48 unique spells used for blasting, knocking back, poisoning, or healing allies without relying on mana points. Success depends on mastering timing mechanics to power spells and block attacks against spirits, myths, monsters, students, and teachers. There are over 100 enemies to learn tricks and traps from, alongside 22 challenging bosses that test strategic depth. Hundreds of items such as wands, hats, cloaks, rings, and magical artifacts can be found hidden throughout the world. The main story takes approximately 17 hours to complete, with additional content extending playtime to 20 hours for a full experience. Players aiming for completion will find the game lasts about 23 hours when hunting for every secret treasure and item. A beautiful soundtrack composed by artists behind Steven Universe accompanies the adventure. Cats appear throughout the game as part of the environment.
