About

FlatOut is a racing title published by Strategy First and developed by Bugbear Entertainment that arrived on December 6, 2005. The game blends arcade, action, simulation, and racing genres to create an experience focused on high-octane speed and demolition derby style combat. Players can engage in both single-player campaigns and multiplayer modes within this destructible environment. The core gameplay involves battling seven rivals for the championship across thirty-six tracks featuring fully destructible surroundings. Drivers must utilize tricks, shortcuts, and jumps while navigating environments where fences shatter, cars become mangled, and tire walls explode. Vehicles are chosen from sixteen different models that can be upgraded and sustain realistic damage which alters their appearance and drivability. Beyond standard racing, the title includes six death-defying minigames such as High Jump, Long Jump, Darts, Bowling, Bullseye, and Clown. Additional content features six destruction arenas and dirt tracks including Demolition Dash, Super Mud Mayhem, Demolition Sandpit, Circle of Eight, Super Roundabout, and Crashalley Run. A sophisticated physics engine supports ragdoll animations and an advanced collision model to simulate these chaotic interactions. The main story takes approximately seven hours to complete, while the full experience with extras extends to nine hours. Completing every challenge in the game requires about ten hours of playtime. The content also includes bonus mini-games like Figure of 8 and Demolition Bowl alongside the previously mentioned arenas.
