Most settlers in this world cling to old ways by building small driftwood shacks on protruding islands amidst food scarcity and garbage floods. Recruit specialists with unique stories to unlock new buildings, quests, and discoveries for your floating community. You can find characters like the Birdkeeper, Chemist, and Electrician to help re-discover old technology and improve your town. Completing their personal storylines unlocks new mechanics while research allows you to transition from burning firewood to green eel-ectricity generation. Building connected production pipelines helps turn your floating town into a self-sustaining ecosystem that thrives in this feel-good apocalypse. The main story takes approximately eight hours to complete, with the same duration for the main experience plus extras. You will fish, distill water, and collect materials to build inventive structures while ensuring your crew stays afloat. Cleaning food and developing cures for pollution-born diseases keeps your drifters healthy and productive throughout the game.
