About
Nantucket is a seafaring strategy game published by Fish Eagle and developed by Picaresque Studio, released on January 17, 2018. The title falls within the Indie, Historical, RPG, Adventure, Strategy, and Simulation genres while offering a single-player experience. Players live through the Golden Age of American whaling as Ishmael, the sole survivor of the Pequod, set against the backdrop of Herman Melville's masterpiece. The gameplay involves setting sail around the world to visit cities and increase prestige by hunting whales, landing jobs, and seeking new adventures. You can develop your character in true RPG fashion by increasing stats, choosing reactions, and improving seafaring skills. Managing your vessel includes hiring crew members, assigning tasks, and expanding ship capabilities with new compartments. Combat is handled through a turn-based system where you hunt whales for blubber and protect your ship from pirates. The game features more than a thousand unique events tailored to player choices that determine the results of actions. You can follow an original story line by completing quests to unveil secrets behind Moby Dick and dissolve Ahab's curse. The main story takes approximately 11 hours to complete, while including extras extends the playtime to 13 hours.
