About
Dream, developed and published by HyperSloth, is an indie first-person adventure puzzle game released on July 30, 2015. The single-player experience takes place within the subconscious mind of Howard Phillips, a young man whose waking life is tedious but whose dreams are lucid and powerful. Players adventure through abstract worlds that can be strange, beautiful, or chilling while solving challenges and discovering secrets to find the key to Howard's future. These environments include snow-covered deserts, endless twisted stairways, and haunting nightmares filled with puzzles, collectibles, and surprises. The game supports VR and offers a non-linear narrative where gameplay allows exploration at will so the story progresses according to player choices. Multiple possible endings mean that decisions made and dreams experienced influence how Howard's future plays out. An enchanting original soundtrack from composer Norman Legies accompanies the worlds of Howard's dreams throughout the experience. Dream was created by HyperSloth, a team of three students from the University of Huddersfield whose mission is to create unique games suitable for a wide audience to a high standard. This title serves as their first major release in the series. The game features a custom built engine and stack that supports collaboration in virtual reality with up to six people in a Dream Team working in real time.
