What is Firewatch?
Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness. The game was released on February 8, 2016. You play as Henry, a man who has left his past life to work as a fire lookout in 1989. Your job is to watch for smoke and keep the wilderness safe.
You are supervised by Delilah, who you can contact at any time through a handheld radio. This is your only connection to the outside world. When something unusual happens, you will explore the forest and face choices that affect your relationship with Delilah.
The main story of Firewatch takes approximately four hours to complete. If you include additional content, the playtime increases to five hours. A completionist playthrough can take up to five hours.

Firewatch is amazing for many reasons, but above all because it's an adult game that deals with serious issues, with realistic adult dialogue to match. And it deals with those issues just like actual adults would: sometimes with humor, sometimes with anger, and sometimes with sadness. It is among the very best of the first-person narrative genre, and it reminds us what video game storytelling is capable of in the right hands. It's a game I can see coming back to every year or two just to revisit its beautiful sights and memorable characters – just like a good book.
