About
Gunbrella is an action, adventure, and platformer published by Devolver Digital and developed by doinksoft. The game was released on September 13, 2023, as a single-player experience. Players step into the role of a gruff woodsman seeking revenge within a world reliant on a scarce natural resource. This gritty noir-punk setting features an unfamiliar town where the protagonist enters armed only with the titular Gunbrella. The Gunbrella functions as both a high-caliber firearm and an umbrella, allowing for specific maneuvers like gliding, swinging, dashing, and diving. These movement capabilities enable players to explore diverse locations ranging from a small town facing cult kidnappings to a junkyard fortress controlled by a trash gang. During the investigation, players encounter various groups including ghouls, gangsters, cops, and cultists while dealing with corporate exploitation issues. The main story takes approximately five hours to complete, extending to seven hours when extras are included. A completionist run requires about ten hours of gameplay. Throughout the journey, players salvage scrap and spare parts to trade for different munitions and upgrades for their impermeable arsenal. Keeping track of findings in a trusty notebook helps players retrace their steps as they confront increasingly ghastly supernatural agents.Read moreShow less
