About
Inkulinati is a turn-based strategy game developed by Yaza Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment, released on January 31, 2023. The title falls within the indie, comedy, strategy, casual, and turn-based genres while offering both single-player and multi-player experiences. Players can utilize controller support to navigate the battlefield during their sessions. The gameplay involves drawing an army of Beasts and using special Hand Actions to manipulate units or create chaos on the field. Each Beast possesses individual skills and class-specific abilities that work in unison to affect the outcome of a battle. Inkulinati Masters also have unique Talents that can be selected to help win encounters against opponents. Combat takes place across various Battlefields where scattered objects like exploding Pots of Beans or travelling Hell's Maws offer opportunities for tactical advantage. An Apocalyptic event may occur during a match, introducing fires, plagues, or the Memento Mori to flip plans upside down. These events can be detrimental but might also be used to turn the tide in a player's favor when hope is lost. The game offers different difficulty levels suitable for various skill sets and includes an Academy mode to teach the nuances of winning every battle. Players can uncover secrets by facing opponents such as Hildegard and Dante Alighieri while completing a main story that takes approximately nine hours to finish. For those seeking a more thorough experience, the completionist length extends to seventeen hours when exploring all extras. Journey mode allows users to create and develop their own character, choosing from styles like a brave knight or a nun who uses prayer to heal servants. Alongside other Inkulinati Masters, players will encounter untamed Wild Beasts, visit shops and scriptoriums, and meet characters such as Bards and talking Geese. The adventure includes building an ultimate army and attempting to bring a Master back from the clutches of death within a medieval setting.
