About
Bridge Constructor Portal combines elements of managerial, building, strategy, and simulation genres within a single-player experience. Published by Headup and developed by ClockStone, the title was released on December 19, 2017. Players enter the Aperture Science Enrichment Center as a new employee tasked with constructing bridges, ramps, slides, and other structures. The objective is to get Bendies safely across the finish line in their vehicles within 60 test chambers. The game features mechanics from both Bridge Constructor and Portal, allowing users to create complex constructions in Aperture Science labs. Players can utilize gadgets such as portals, propulsion gel, repulsion gel, aerial faith plates, and cubes to bypass obstacles like sentry turrets, acid pools, laser barriers, emancipation grills, and laser fields. These tools help solve switch puzzles and navigate the test chambers without taking damage. GLaDOS, voiced by Ellen McLain, guides users through the tutorial and shares tips for succeeding as an Aperture Science employee. This specific version sold on GOG does not include the level editor feature. The experience focuses on mastering complicated physics-based tasks while helping Bendies cross the finish line individually or in a convoy.

Bridge Constructor Portal Critic Reviews and Review Scores

I can wholeheartedly recommend Bridge Constructor Portal as a rich, challenging puzzler with plenty of brain-twisters in store across its 60 levels. The pacing and methodical iteration it encourages meant it only ever taxed my mind, not my nerves. As a Portal fan's nostalgia piece, it's really not much better than a kitschy, amusement park gift shop recreation of the world many of us know and love – but the little nods serve well enough to enhance an already enjoyable puzzle game.

Portal's systems, if not its clever humor, are put to good use in this fun physics-based puzzle game.

Bridge Constructor Portal lacks the charm and cleverness that made the original Portal games so enthralling.
