About
Decision: Red Daze is an isometric action RPG developed by FlyAnvil and published by Nordcurrent Labs, released on May 18, 2022. The game combines survival elements with tower defense mechanics in a single-player experience set within the Dust Bowl. This society was originally populated by corrupt politicians and property barons before being overtaken by a mysterious illness called the Red Daze. Survivors who contract this condition transform into dangerous mutated creatures that threaten the remaining population. Governments struggle to respond while players must defend settlements and find a way to eradicate the phenomenon. Players can recruit any survivor found in the wasteland, regardless of their initial status, to lead squads and explore the environment. Each character can be upgraded and specialized according to the player's strategy for making the area safer. Exploration involves visiting abandoned farmsteads, factories, and military installations filled with monsters and valuable loot. Survivors will occupy these locations to turn them into fortified settlements that serve as safe havens. These bases allow players to assign tasks such as producing food, fabricating resources, or creating goods for barter. Defenses must be established and upgraded to protect the growing population from incoming attacks. During conflicts, players can direct their best soldiers to guard the base while they manage operations from a distance or join the fight personally. Strategic planning is required to assemble a squad of specialists that maximizes survival odds against monster packs. Intelligence gathering on enemy movements helps in preparing for defense or locating and eliminating boss monsters. The game offers a completionist playthrough length of approximately 20 hours for those seeking to see all content.
