Players can recruit any survivor found in the wasteland, regardless of their initial status, to lead squads and explore the environment. Exploration involves visiting abandoned farmsteads, factories, and military installations filled with monsters and valuable loot. Survivors will occupy these locations to turn them into fortified settlements that serve as safe havens.
