About
Minoria is an action, indie, adventure, and RPG title developed by Bombservice and published by DANGEN Entertainment. Released on August 26, 2019, this single-player game serves as a spiritual sequel to the Momodora series from the same studio. The project represents the latest and most ambitious effort from the developer, offering fans of the previous franchise familiar design elements and gameplay mechanics. Players will encounter aspects that echo the earlier titles while exploring concepts within a new universe created by director rdein. The narrative unfolds during the fourth Witch War, a period marked by intense religious fervor and fanatical beliefs. In this setting, the Sacred Office leads an inquisition to purge sinners who threaten humanity, labeling those who conduct forbidden ceremonies as witches. Sisters Semilla and Fran serve as missionaries tasked with thwarting these ceremonies and protecting common folk from heresy that endangers the status quo. The story draws inspiration from medieval European history to create a powerful fantasy experience set against this backdrop of conflict. Visually, the game presents an HD format that blends 2D hand-painted backgrounds with cel-shaded characters for its aesthetic. This unique combination creates a distinct look that marks an evolutionary step in the team's development experience. Combat systems encourage careful engagement and patient play through fluid controls that support both offensive and defensive strategies. Players can crush enemies using a mix of swordplay and spells while utilizing dodge-rolls and parries to defend against attacks. Progression is managed through a leveling system that allows players to adjust their character to match their desired difficulty. The main story requires approximately five hours to complete, with additional content extending the experience to seven hours. Those seeking to explore every aspect of the game can expect a completionist run lasting around nine hours. This title offers a solemn story paired with action-platformer mechanics for those interested in that genre.
