About
Wargroove is a strategy title developed and published by Chucklefish that arrived on February 1, 2019. The game supports single-player, multi-player, and co-op modes for up to four participants. Players can choose from four warring factions including the Cherrystone Kingdom, Heavensong Empire, Felheim Legion, and Floran Tribes. A cast of over twelve commanders offers distinct personalities and motivations for each leader. The experience centers on turn-based combat where users command armies and customize battlefields. The narrative follows young Queen Mercia as she flees her home in the Kingdom of Cherrystone after war breaks out. She must travel to new lands to find allies while facing sinister challenges along the way. The game includes tools for designing and sharing maps, cut-scenes, and campaigns with easy-to-use editors. Users can also access in-depth customization options to tailor their experience. This retro-style combat allows players to wage war against battling factions directly. The main story runs for approximately twenty hours of gameplay. Adding extras extends the playtime to around thirty-eight hours total. A completionist run requires about eighty-two hours to finish all available content. The plot details Mercia's quest against unworldly foes as she seeks to save her kingdom. Players will encounter various characters and challenges throughout this journey.

Wargroove doesn't shy away from its Advance Wars inspiration, but it proves to be much more than a mere copycat.
